STONEFORM

Chi siamo

Where the drawing dares, the stone follows.

Stoneform Italia is the brand under which Sibilia S.r.l. designs and makes furniture and artworks in natural stone. We are in Cantù, in Brianza. The manufacture is our own.

Every stone. Every form. One company answering for it.

Il fronte di cava

La materia prima

Marble is chosen at the quarry, not in a warehouse.

We control the sourcing of the stone at origin. The marble we work comes from quarries we follow directly: the slab is not taken from a warehouse list, it is chosen at the face, where the block is still attached to the mountain and where you can truly read what it promises.

Everything else follows from there. A work in natural stone cannot be corrected later: if the starting block is mediocre, no machine and no hand will redeem it. This is why our control begins before the cut, before the drawing, before the order.

It is also the reason we can tell you precisely what you are buying. The veining you receive photographed before the cut is no surprise to us either: we know which wall it came from.

La manifattura

No stage of the work leaves these walls.

The work is not outsourced. Our production department runs machinery able to execute operations of considerable complexity: continuous curves, hollowed volumes, mortise-and-tenon joints, thicknesses taken to the limit, surfaces that shift plane in space.

These are the operations where many stop short. For us they are the starting point.

A difficult project is never scaled down to fit what can be done. The machine adapts to the drawing, never the reverse. And beside the machine the hand remains: ribbed faces, faceted edges, finishes you feel before you see them.

And there is a step that cannot be taught: an artist's drawing is not negotiable. Onyx, alabaster and rare marbles are precious, extremely fragile materials that grant no second chance under the blade; forging them into a form that did not exist before means pushing them to an instant before the point where they give way, and stopping exactly there.

The object stops looking cut. It starts looking alive.

I materiali

We work every stone. Because we know how.

Every stone has a character: its hardness, its behaviour under the blade, its response to polishing, the points where it yields and those where it holds. Knowing it is the craft, and craft is not improvised.

This is why we are not tied to a single material. From the most celebrated marbles to the stones few are willing to touch: the question is not whether we can work it. It is which one you have chosen.

  • Marble
  • Onyx
  • Travertine
  • Granite
  • Quartzite

La direzione

We come from luxury, and it shows in how we deliver.

The company's leadership comes from managing high-value-added businesses in the luxury sector. It is a precise school, and it teaches one thing only: the product is half the work. The other half is the way it is chosen, presented, packed, delivered and remembered.

That discipline has come with us. You will recognise it in the photographs of the slab you receive before it is cut, in your right to refuse it without discussion, in delivery to your floor by appointment rather than to a doorstep. Details nobody demands — and precisely what separates an expensive object from a luxury one.

Il progetto

An Italian tradition, open to those who come from elsewhere.

Our company has deep roots in the Italian tradition of stone and furniture: a heritage that keeps evolving and welcomes the influence of designers from all over the world.

The catalogue works carry the signatures of designers and architects who chose to work with us. To each we offer the same thing: a manufacture that does not say no in advance, and a drawing built without simplification.

The drawings born of this work are registered: the catalogue works are protected as European Union designs, filed in the company's name. It is a choice that protects the designer before it protects the company.

At the heart of design lies an invisible force: a language that goes beyond aesthetics and speaks directly to the mind. We join the timeless solidity of stone to the most recent findings of neuroaesthetics, to design spaces that are not merely admired: they are lived in.

Come lavoriamo

Four steps, always the same.

01

La lastra

The material is chosen together, starting from the project and from the room the work will live in.

02

Le fotografie

Before cutting you receive photographs of the selected slab. If it does not convince you, we change it. At no cost and with no questions.

03

La lavorazione

Cutting, shaping and finishing in our own department. From order to delivery, six to eight weeks.

04

La consegna

To your floor, by appointment, anywhere in Italy. Stone is heavy and fragile: it is not left on a pavement.

Sostenibilità scolpita nella pietra

We waste nothing from a block.

The timeless beauty of stone is a gift of nature, and honouring it with respect and foresight is our responsibility. From the choice of quarries to the working of the material, we adopt techniques that preserve resources and reduce waste.

What is left over becomes a project again. We use renewable energy and advanced technology so that every work is remarkable to look at and respectful of what it came from. True luxury lies in making things that last.

La corrispondenza

A few letters a year. Only when there is something to show.

A block arrived from the quarry with a veining we had never seen. A new work leaving the workshop. A delivered project we are able to talk about. We write when it happens, not to a schedule.

No offers, no automated reminders. One click at the foot of any letter unsubscribes you, and the address is never passed to anyone.
